The trail begins and ends along the road that goes up to Cabe\u00e7o Verde. It passes by unique places, highlighting the Furna Ruim, the Caldeir\u00e3o and the whole landscape on the Peninsula of the Capelo. Along the route it is possible to observe several specimens of the Laurissilva forest.<\/p>\n
Start the route along the road that goes up to Cabe\u00e7o Verde, one of the volcanic cones of the Capelo Peninsula, in the west of Faial. Start by surrounding this Cabe\u00e7o, overlooking the Faj\u00e3 da Praia do Norte, Cabe\u00e7o do Fogo, Morro de Castelo Branco and other volcanic cones present in the Capelo Peninsula, aligned with an approximate east – west orientation.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, go down to the right on the way for 750 m. Next to the informative signs, follow to the right until the Furna Ruim, Volcanic Algar with 55 m of depth. Continue on the shortcut between some specimens of the Laurissilva forest, such as laurel (Laurus azorica), holly (Ilex perado subsp. azorica), grape (Vaccinium cylindraceum) and heather (Erica azorica), bypassing the Algar do Caldeir\u00e3o until reaching the path of Bagacina.<\/p>\n
Cross the path and climb the staircase towards Cabe\u00e7o do Canto, from which you will see the landscape of Capelinhos Volcano. Go around this Cabe\u00e7o in its entirety and go back the same way, following the markings, until you reach the Cabe\u00e7o Verde again.<\/p>\n
