In this Off Road Tour we will visit the main points of the island by less used roads.<\/p>\n
In Espalamaca we can see the view over Almoxarife Beach, city of Horta, Marina and the promontory consisting of Monte Queimado and Monte da Guia. Then we pass by the Pedro Miguel Ponds, a wetland where you can observe the local biodiversity, both in terms of fauna and flora and is an excellent place for bird watching that pass here during their migrations. In the center of the island we have the Caldeira, one of the ex – libr\u00eds of the island. It has a Diamer with about 2 km, a depth of about 400m and is covered with Laurissilva vegetation. It has been classified as a nature reserve since 1972. We went to the Capelinhos Volcano , another ex – libr\u00eds of the island that was erupting from September 27, 1957 to October 24, 1958 and visited the Interpretation Center of the Capelinhos Volcano (Closed at Mondays). We continue to Varadouro where we will take a short walk to observe its beautiful bay and natural pools.<\/p>\n
Return to Horta.<\/p>\n
